Spiritual Direction at The St. James Center for Spiritual Formation Spiritual Direction is a privileged time and place to reflect about one’s relationship with God. The focus of Spiritual Direction is one’s life with God as it is lived out in all of life’s experiences. Ultimately, Spiritual Direction is the process of coming home to one’s deepest self. One might come to Spiritual Direction for a number of reasons: • Identify and trust your own experiences of God. • Integrate spirituality into your daily life. • Discern and make difficult choices. • Share struggles, losses, or disappointments. • Find encouragement and affirmation in one’s spiritual journey. • Grow in relationship with God, self, others and creation.
Benefits of Spiritual Direction • Having the support of a spiritual companion. • Exploring a closer relationship with God in the midst of a busy life. • More clarity about making decisions in accord with God’s desire for you. • Process of coming home to one’s deepest self.
What to Discuss with a Spiritual Director • Your desires and hopes to love and serve God. • Your struggles and your questions about God and prayer. • Your experience of God’s presence or absence in daily life.
